Dedicated Tanker Solution – Not Small Drum Transfers

One of the key differences with Blended is scale. We provide a full tanker solution, designed for large industrial systems. Some providers rely on smaller drum transfers, which can be time-consuming, inefficient and impractical for high-volume systems. Our tanker approach enables bulk transfer, reducing handling steps and improving site efficiency.

We can deploy our tanker anywhere in the UK, supporting cold stores, food production sites, supermarkets and logistics hubs. Whether the requirement is short-term decanting during planned maintenance or a complete system emptying ahead of plant replacement, we provide a solution suited to the size and complexity of the installation.

Managing Ammonia Safely During Maintenance and Decommissioning

Anhydrous ammonia remains one of the most efficient and widely used refrigerants in large-scale industrial cooling systems. However, when maintenance, repairs or system modifications are required, safely managing the ammonia charge becomes a critical issue. Many operators simply do not have the infrastructure, storage capacity or certified handling capability to manage significant volumes of ammonia on site.

Blended’s Ammonia Decant & Recharge service removes that operational risk

We bring a dedicated tanker directly to your facility and decant the ammonia from your system in a controlled and compliant manner. This allows engineers to carry out essential works — whether that’s valve replacement, plant upgrades or full system overhauls — without the hazards associated with leaving ammonia within the pipework and vessels.

Recharge or Full Removal – Flexible Options

Once maintenance or upgrades are complete, the ammonia can be safely recharged back into the system, restoring operations efficiently. This controlled recharge helps reduce downtime and ensures the system returns to service with minimal disruption.

Where systems are being permanently shut down or decommissioned, we can remove the ammonia entirely and manage compliant disposal in line with UK legislation and ISO9001 quality standards. We handle the transport, documentation and regulatory requirements, giving facilities managers and site operators confidence that everything is managed correctly.

Planned, Controlled and Compliant

Ammonia handling is not an area for improvisation. Every transfer is carefully planned with site engineers and project managers in advance. We work around your maintenance schedules and operational needs, helping to ensure minimal disruption while maintaining strict safety controls.

Most projects are planned well ahead of time, particularly for building decommissioning or major refurbishment works. This allows for structured risk assessments, site coordination and safe execution, rather than reactive last-minute arrangements.

With Blended, you gain a partner experienced in large-scale ammonia transfer, focused on safety, compliance and operational continuity. We manage the complex logistics so your team can focus on the technical work that matters.
