Delta-T is our advanced new surfactant that reduces heating and cooling associated energy demands by up to 27%.

Developed by SafeSol, Delta-T is a liquid additive that significantly enhances the efficiency of water-based heating and cooling systems.

How does Delta-T  work?
Delta-T is ideal for residential and commercial properties, councils, and businesses looking to enhance their sustainability and reduce costs. Fully compatible with biocides, inhibitors, and glycols, Delta-T allows for seamless integration into existing systems without compromising their protective functions. It works by reducing the surface tension of water. This allows water within a heating or cooling system to reach a greater surface area of heat exchangers, leading to an increase in heat transfer efficiency. In university tests, a space heated by a copper coil got to temperature 3.2 times faster with Delta-T. This means Delta-T delivers faster warming and cooling of spaces.

Our MD, Alex Robinson, said: “Delta-T is a revolutionary product that substantially reduces energy consumption, heating and cooling costs and CO₂ emissions.

Not only does it offer customers a quick return on investment, but its mass adoption can mitigate UK energy demands. It’s a win-win product, with wide appeal, and results that speak for themselves.”

Bradford Council completed a three-month trial of Delta-T. The test found that Delta-T would reduce the annual energy costs of the main office, a Victorian building with a 20,000 litre heating system, by 27%. This reduction in energy usage represented an annual cost saving to the council of £33,600. It also reduced CO₂ output by 31 tonnes.

Vicki Morrison, MD of SafeSol said: “SafeSol has spent 15 years researching and developing Delta-T alongside the University of the West of Scotland.

“We’re excited to be working with Blended to get Delta-T to a wider audience including domestic and commercial heating and cooling system users. We feel that Blended, with its experience in the specialty chemical industry, is an ideal partner to help take Delta-T to next level.”

    Rooms heat faster with Delta-T

The University of West Scotland developed a test rig to test different surfactant technologies. The results proved Delta-T allows rooms to heat up quicker than: water, water + Alkyl Polyglucoside (APG), water and Graphene Oxide.
