Heat Treatment
Our premium grade Anhydrous Ammonia is used in heat treatment processes across the UK, providing suppliers of industries including aerospace, automotive and tool hardening.
Furnaces diffuse nitrogen into carbon steel which hardens the surface in a process known as nitriding.

Anhydrous Ammonia
Anhydrous ammonia is used in heat treatment to increase the hardness and corrosion resistance of metals. In the nitriding process, anhydrous ammonia dissociates into nitrogen and hydrogen when encountering the heated metal. The nitrogen diffuses onto the surface of the metal, creating a nitride layer. The purity of our premium grade ammonia helps achieve consistent, high quality nitriding results for optimum hardness and corrosion resistance.
